Look Beyond the Clouds

I used an old sketch from Viva La Verve to create this cute card. The washi tape I used was very wide, so I cut it in half.

The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie. I'm entering this card in the latest Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is to make a rainbow.

Distressed Mother's Day

Mother's Day is not in distress. But this Mother's Day card has a distressed look to it. The base layer is paper from 7 Gypsies. The bold lines on the washi tape and the crisp black circle were starting to make the look too harsh, so I softened it up a bit by inking just the outer circle of flowers from a stamp that had a distress look to it and putting them around the edge of the sentiment layer. I think that touch, plus the torn edges at the bottom of the two strips of washi keep this card balanced between the geometric and vintage styles.

Every month Our Daily Bread Designs sponsors the shipping up two boxes of cards for Operation Write Home based on how many people respond to their monthly challenge. This card is for their March challenge which is to make a sentiment the focus of a card.

The Monday Challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is "Just a hint of clover." I think this card is perfect for that because the green in the background and subtle. The Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is "Special Lady/Girly," so I'm entering this card in that challenge as well.

The Wednesday Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is "Anything Goes." So I am entering this card in that challenge too.

"H" is for "Hi!"

I'm having a good time using the My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup paper. It was a nice match with the latest Waffle Flower Challenge. This challenge includes a photo of some tops in red and orange colors. The colors and swirl patterns in the paper echo these images.

Sentiment stamp: Inkadinkado
Washi tape: Recollections and Bella Blvd

For the layout I used Mojo Monday sketch 383 which I am really enjoying.

This card qualifies for the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp: "H is for..."

As an added bonus, I used a stamp from The Cat's Pajamas. So, this card qualifies for the Anything Goes challenge they have going on.

More Washi Love!

I'm having so much fun making cards with this blue and yellow washi tape from My Mind's Eye.

The first card uses rocket and star stamps from My Mind's Eye and a sentiment stamp from Inkadinkadoo. The sketch is OWH #108.

Operation Write Home Sketch #108

The next card uses sketch #122. The stamp is called "Huggy Kissy Love" and is made by Rubber Stampede.

Operation Write Home Sketch #122

The final card uses the latest sketch (243) from Operation Write Home. I used stamps from Hero Arts, Hambo Stamps and There She Goes Stamps.

Washi Love

I've been making cards using a set of My Minds Eye washi tape that I found at Marshall's.

The focus with these cards was to make love cards using sketches from Operation Write Home.

I made several hearts by covering a piece of white cardstock with washi tape and then using the Stampin' Up heart punch.

Sketch #71 uses washi tape for the little stripe across the middle and for the heart.

OWH Sketch #71

Sketch #102 uses washi tape for the three stripes and for the heart. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

OWH Sketch #102

For sketch #143 I used washi tape to make the diagonal stripes. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Sketch #242 is the latest OWH sketch. Washi tape was a great fit for this sketch. It looked more like a birthday card than a love card, so I stamped it with a "celebrate" stamp from Paper Smooches. It still looked like it needed a little something, so I added little yellow candy dots from Stampin' Up.
