I've been having fun making love cards. This one features stamps from Hero Arts and paper from Little Yellow Bicycle. I inked the edges with Distress Ink in Soot to help define the edges and add dimension.
This one is going in the Mod Squad "Show your love" challenge as well as the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Wednesday Challenge.

Heart and Home
How about a love card that is not in the traditional shades of red and pink?
If you look closely you will see that the houses have tiny little hearts on them. Also, the polka dot heart was made with a die that cuts and embosses. Hard to see these details online.
This one is going in the Mod Squad "Show your love" challenge as well as the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Wednesday Challenge.
With You By My Side
It's love season. The challenge this week at Mod Squad is to "show your love." This card uses one of my favorite sentiments from My Favorite Things: "with you by my side anything is possible." Isn't that sweet?
The Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is "Anything Goes," so this card is going over there as well.
Paper: Basic Grey "Hello Luscious"
Stamp: My Favorite Things
Ink: Hero Arts
Punches: Stampin' Up

Just Breathe ATC
I recently had the idea to make an ATC inspiration deck for myself. The ATC format is new to me. Its difficult for me to do anything other than make them look like mini greeting cards.
This one uses the current sketch from Your Next Stamp. The colors sort of match the YNS colors as well.
I used the smallest flower from the Stampin Up Blossom Punch to make a tiny tag.
The stamp is from the Just Breathe set from Verve which I just bought. I went over the stamp with my new purple Wink of Luna brush marker. So this gets put in the Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday Challenge to use something new.
The SSS Monday Challenge is "Chill Out" which goes along with the relaxing message.
And the SSS Wednesday Challenge is "Anything But a Card." I'm hoping they mean greeting card and my ATC qualifies.

My Valentine
I made this card using the sketch from the latest Your Next Stamp Challenge.
Rather than use a half circle at the top, I used an arched embellishment to create the same shape.
The papers come from a Basic Grey collection called Kissing Booth.

A little bit of bling
Having made cards for Operation Write Home for two years, I am used to the rules of no glitter, no sequins, basically no bling. (These were not allowed because they could potentially make our troops visible to night vision goggles).
I'm still not comfortable working with glitter and metallic. But this week two of the challenges involve bling, so I pushed myself to go for the glitz. The result is probably tame, but this was a big step for me!
The challenges that got me to push outside my comfort zone were this week's Cupcake Inspiration (black, white and silver) and this week's Mod Squad Challenge (Bling). I struggled so much I missed the deadline for the Cupcake challenge, but I'm giving them a shout out anyway.
Because I broke out a new paper pad for this, I'm posting it over at the Work it Wednesday challenge to use something new.

Be Mine
A very short, quick post today.
I made this sweet Valentine's Day card using Sketch 315 from My Favorite Things.
I had a banner sticker that was just the right size for this sketch. It's from Basic Grey, as is the striped paper on the left. I made a little embellishment by using a scallop punch, a circle punch and a heart punch. I used a little foam dot to add dimension under the glittery heart.

Great Day
This card layout is one of my favorite ways to use up bits of paper left over from larger projects. It comes from Operation Write Home sketch 154. This card uses paper from Crate Paper and some Bazzil cardstock as well.
The Monday Challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is to use squares -- so this card certainly qualifies for that. The challenge over at Sugar Pea Designs is "Anything Goes."

Love Birds
This card uses Sketch 314 from My Favorite Things and paper I've been hoarding from Basic Grey. The "Kissing Booth" collection is one of my favorites and with Basic Grey out of business, the paper is more precious than ever.
I'm entering this card over at the Mod Squad "Anything but Christmas" challenge and also in the SugarPea "Anything Goes" challenge.
By the way, I used something new today -- my new lightbox! Horray! My photos look nice again! My old (homemade) lightbox did not survive my move in 2015 and my card photos have been sub-par for the last year. The new lightbox came with different colored backdrops and two lights to shine on my precious little cards. So much better and easier to use than the DIY stuff I was rigging up.

Bring on the Love!
Holiday season is over and time marches on. The next major holiday is Valentine's Day, so its time to start making LOVE cards.
I used the latest Mojo Monday sketch for the layout of this card.
I used one of new circle dies for the circle. Not very exciting, but it qualifies this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which was to use something new. I'm actually more excited about another new product I used -- Thermoweb Sticky Dots! These little adhesive dots were very helpful in attaching the red die-cut swirl to the card.
I'm also entering this card in the Mod Squad Challenge which is "Anything but Christmas,"
and in the SugarPea Designs challenge which is "Anything Goes."
