My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Cards

Today I'm sharing pictures of cards made using paper from My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Tangerine collection. These cards, and a bunch more I didn't photograph were all made from the same 6" x 6" pad of paper.

I tried to use as many different Operation Write Home (OWH) sketeches as possible.

This card was inspired by cards made by Pam on Airbornewife's Stamping Spot. I don't think it is based on an OWH sketch. Please leave a comment if I'm wrong and I'll add a sketch number.

Sunburst Card

Hope you enjoyed these. Some of these sketches appealed to me right away. Some of them were more challenging to work with, but I was happy with the results in the end.

Green and Purple Sympathy Card

This card was made in response to the Operation Write Home sketch challenge #239. Sketch #239 was really difficult for me to work with. None of my stamps looked like they would work. I was finding it hard to make it my own. So I started just copying the original as much as possible, then finally got into it.

The green dotted paper is from Stampin Up "Just Add Cake." The flower stamp is from Inkadinkado. I colored it in with an Old Olive marker from Stampin Up and a water brush dipped in Elderberry ink from Momento.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Life is Short...

I love the sentiment on this stamp so much, I absolutely had to buy it. It is from Riley and Company. Life can really be rough sometimes, and its good to remind yourself of the positives.

The paper is from Echo Park For the Record.

The sketch is from Operation Write Home -- sketch 234. My lighting was not the best, so everything looks are little more yellow than it really is.

I'm really happy with how this turned out. I really love this sketch too, so I made more cards using this sketch, same sentiment and different paper.

Another Gratitude Card

I find myself reaching for this sentiment over and over again. It is from Hero Arts.

To make this card I inked the edges of the papers using Stampin Up Soft Suede ink applied to a Ranger Ink Applicator with a foam pad. It was a nice way to add some contrast around the edges without adding extra layers of paper. I tied a bit of embroidery floss around the right hand side of the sentiment panel. The paper is from a Crate Paper pad called Storyteller.

This card is based on sketch #186 from Operation Write Home.
